How many of you just feel like there is not enough hours in the day? I know that I do, it is difficult trying to juggle everything in our lives. I know that most days I have what seems like a never-ending number of things to do. I always get asked how I do it, well this is how.

First, I plan my day it doesn’t always work out but at least I have a generally idea of how I want things to flow for the day.

I do not spend too much time on one project, I determine how long I have in my schedule to get something done and I set a timer. Whenever the timer goes off move on to something else.

I know what you’re thinking! You can’t do that and in some situations like doctor’s appointments and similar event your right you can’t. However, for the most part many of your tasks you can get done in a short set amount of time.

Schedule in breaks if you have young ones when they lay down to take a nap relax. It is ok to take a break. If you try to cram as much as you can into your schedule you will get burnt out quickly and you’re going to be miserable. If you schedule in time to take a nap or watch a television you will be more productive in the long run.

Schedule in time for exercise. Exercising is important and just taking a walk can make you feel so much better and has so many benefits. Do not neglect yourself, because you feel overwhelmed. I know, I know it is hard to do. I know personally I am so worried about my family all the time I forget about myself.

Lastly be FLEXIBLE!!! it is not the end of the world if things do not work out the way you had them scheduled. Especially living the army life and being a paramedic I know that things can be very unpredictable. You need to adapt, overcome, and execute.

Those are some of the things that I use to most utilize my time. So, try to keep a positive attitude no matter what the day brings. You’ve got this Ladies.
